Kate Middleton in Amanda Wakeley
- by laurieg
Ok, I know I’m about a week late on this, but time slips away when you’re chasing a two year old around, getting ready for Halloween. But seriously, can we talk about Kate Middleton’s latest appearance at the In Kind Direct charity dinner? This girl looks absolutely amazing in this vintage Amanda Wakeley gown with beaded straps. Keeping her hair and makeup simple and jewelry to a minimum, she lets the dress do the talking and the outcome is breathtaking. Kate Middleton has always been at the top of my style list, you can’t deny, the Duchess can dress, but this is probably my favorite gown to date. In fact, I’m beginning to reconsider my Halloween costume this year…
What do you think about Kate’s look? Are you dressing as a Royal this year for Halloween?

Think Pink This Month
- by laurieg
I think by now everyone is fully aware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. From Susan G. Komen’s nationwide Race for the Cure to the NFL’s hot pink mouthguards and cleats for weeks 4 through 7 of the season, everyone steps up this month to show their support. I think even Eggland’s Best eggs have a tiny pink ribbon printed on their eggs for the next few weeks. Motives by Loren Ridinger Goes Pink and shows their support for breast cancer awareness by donating $1 to earlier.org for every Inspired Collagen Core Lipstick and Brilliant Mineral Lipstick purchased during the month of October. I love these colors to begin with, but I love them even more knowing that they support the awareness of a cancer that has affected so many. I think everyone knows someone that has been affected by breast cancer or has battled it themselves. My grandmother was a survivor, and I have more than a few close family friends that beat the disease. Not everyone is as fortunate, and my thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones at some point. Early detection is crucial, ladies, so make sure you get checked regularly and even more often if there’s family history! Here’s to the fighters out there, keep your chin up and think pink!!
