Okay, so today we’re going to talk about…shopping! Online shopping, specifically. Some folks prefer the touching, feeling, and trying on aspect of actual shopping, some people hate stores, but are addicted to internet purchasing, then there are people that use online shopping as an extremely useful tool during the holidays. Regardless of what type you are, the newest member of the online shopping destinations is sure to impress. Motives by Loren Ridinger’s parent company, Market America, recently partnered with Shop.com and the resulting site that launched only days ago is, well, pretty much awesome. Seriously, it’s like Amazon.com on steroids! Like Amazon, it’s a one stop online shopping destination. Unlike Amazon, it allows customers to shop by item, store, or brand, comparison shop to get the best deal, and offers cashback (without signing up for a credit card) on thousands of products, and not just on your purchases, but also on purchases made by anyone you refer. In other words, you get paid on purchases your mom made online, just because you told her to shop on this site. Yeah, not even kidding. There’s even a Trend Shop tab that keeps you in the know when it comes to what’s trending now. And here’s the crazy part, Shop.com has assigned Shop Consultants that are available to answer any questions you might have about your purchase, a product, or how to find your way around the website. Yes, an actual person will provide any help you might need with your shopping experience! Visit Shop.com and check it out, I bet you’ll never go back to Amazon again. I do most of my Christmas shopping online and will definitely be spending a lot of time on this site over the next few months! What about you? Are you an online shopping junkie or casual buyer?
First thing’s first. I love pumpkin spice coffee. This has nothing to do with today’s post, but as I savor my fourth cup of the day, I can’t help but to share a little bit of the joy this flavor of falls brings to me. Now that you’ve seen a glimpse of my slight pumpkin obsession, onto business: fall’s metallic smokey eye. Metallics are everywhere right now, from nail polish to accessories, and even clothing. Putting it on your peepers is my favorite way to wear this seasonal trend, and it’s super simple. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow on the lid and inner corners. I absolutely love Motives Luxe Creme Eye Shadow in Gold Dust for this part. Add a darker color to your lash lines, blending it into the outer corners and into the crease. Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in Vino is a beautiful color, but any darker shade would do. Finish off with some Luxe Precision Eyeliner in Noir and a little mascara and you’re done! Easy, right?
Following suit with bold lips, bold brows are the way to go this season, so don’t stress if you’ve missed a wax or two. Now, I’m not suggesting we all go au naturale, walking out the door looking like a bush monster as my mom would say, but a little grooming is recommended. After combing your brows up at a 45 degree angle, fill in the thin spots with a brow pencil or powder a shade lighter than your brows. Then keep them in place by combing or brushing in a brow wax. Motives Essential Brow Kit has all the tools you need for beautiful brows. For those that don’t have much to work with from the start, there are brow thickeners available, Anastasia has a Brow Enhancing Serum and Fixx’s Lash Extend is great for thickening lashes as well as brows. Are you on board with this brow trend?
A departure from summer’s nude and natural lips colors, bold, berry inspired lips are trending this fall and winter. But how to wear these luscious lip colors without looking too overdone? Check out these tips from Motives by Loren Ridinger:
Are you going to go bold this fall?
Who thinks parabens don’t belong in your makeup? Okay, who knows what parabens are? Right. I’m guessing a lot of you heard the crickets chirping in response to those questions, but for those of you who not only know what parabens are (a preservative found in some makeup products to prevent bacteria growth), but don’t particularly get the warm and fuzzy about having even trace amounts in your cosmetics, Motives has a solution for you, which was released just weeks ago at Market America’s International Convention in Greensboro, NC. Motives new paraben-free, Ambition mineral cosmetic line is a small but mighty addition to the original Motives by Loren Ridinger cosmetic line. Let me just stop here for a minute and say that while the entire Motives line is a mineral cosmetic line, some of the products do contain very small amounts of parabens. Studies have shown that parabens in such small amounts are harmless, but for those that disagree, the Ambition line uses a zinc oxide as antibacterial protection instead to put concerned customers at ease. This beautiful new line has four powders, four blushes, eight lipsticks, and five baked eye shadow trios (love them!!) in new but compimentary colors, containing good for your skin ingredients such as rosemary extract to help tone and firm the skin, echinacea extract to reduce redness and swelling, and magnolia bark extract to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I love makeup that leaves your skin looking healthier even after you take it off!
Are you worried about parabens in your makeup? What do you think of the new line?
